HT1250 Display Backlight...

Is there any reason why, an HT1250's backlight wouldn't work? I have a HT1250 that came factory flashed at R02.15.02. I had my dealer flash it to the latest they had on hand R05 something. The actual display and LED on top DO work. So I don't think its the flex (the flex between the actual radio and the control board of the LCD (I haven't been able to remove the metal shield to inspect the LCD flex), the flex looks firmly connected on both ends. By the way according to the serial the radio was manufactured in Sept of 2000.
Anyone have a thought? (I moved this post from Hardware Info, I realised I had posted in the wrong forum...)

Just the backlight? I have Auto Backlight enabled and Light button assigned. What other options are there to enable the display backlight?

It looks like a hardware problem.Change the front cover and look what the radio do.

I agree with Andreas. If you can, swap the control head with another radio that is working OK. If the backlight works by swapping the head, then you definately have a hardware problem. If the backlight does NOT work or you don't have spare radios lying around, then we will need to answer a few questions to find out what this could be.
1 - Do the status LEDs work (the red/yellow/green lights on the top)? I believe you said that they did. Just making sure.
2 - Can you turn the radio on/off from the face?
3 - Has the backlight worked before?
4 - Is this a remote mount, or dash mount?
