I recently borowed the RTK-4203A Cable and I have a question. The black coax cable with the female BNC, that is comming out of the RS-232 connector, where does this go in the test setup??

If the cable is for Maxtrac/Radius mobiles, the BNC is for a external modulation input.

Monty:
My error .. The cable is the RTK-4203A. This is for the Saber line of radios as it has the Saber connector for the side of the radio. Sorry for the typo.

For a Sabre, there should be a BNC on white coax for the RF antenna port comming from the radio connector hsg.
The audio in and out is handled thru the round male connector.
Warning do NOT short any pins to ground.

Hi Will:
Probably just a over sight, but the Round Male BNC Plug
is for the RF Power Measurements, the Round BNC Female
is for the Audio in/out
At least that is the way mine is wired

Hey Monty, my factory Saber cable has a white coax from the radio connector to a BNC connector for RF testing. And the audio in and out are thru a round male plug that looks like the base of a vacume tube with a couple of extra pins. The round con plugs into the Portable Test Set. The audio in and outputs are on seprate pins as is the PTT and discr, and a couple of other funtcions. The DB goes to the RIB.

Hi:
There is [ 2 ] Types of Saber Program / Test Cables.
1 is a RTK4046A which is a Cable for the Saber SI/Astro
Radio and the RTK4203B which is for the Saber l, ll, lll's
ect.
The RTK4203B Should have ( 2 ) Small white ( Not just one )
Teflon Cables, one from the Radio Side which is a Male BNC,
and one from the Rib Box side which is a Female BNC
The Multi-Pin Plug ( which is simailar to a 9 pin Mini-Vacum
Tube ) is the one that goes to the RTX4005 Test Set.
So as not to be confused, the Round Female BNC is the Auxiliary
Tx Audio Input to make proper adjustments to the VCO and
Reference Mod which is required to make proper Tx adjustments
and goes to Pin 11 of the Radio Universal Surface Jack. No other
connection is made @ that location.
The Mic audio is routed to Pin 4 and goes to U102 where
Pin 11 goes to U101 and U700.
I only mention this due to the adjustments being Critical
if you want a Saber Radio to perform perfectly
The [ Round MALE BNC PLUG ] is for Making Tx Power / Rx
Sensitivity Adjustments.
This clarification is for the beginners, as the Pro Techs already
know which plugs to use for the tests required.
Happy tunning !!
