Is there any way to boost the volume of the XTS2500 through the CPS or other means.

audio out is on the accessory connector.
From there it is simple to add an amplifier or whatever.

Replace R505 10k resistor with a 2k.
Simple, but you need sharp SMT skills for soldering and unsoldering.
Works great, louder than an HT1000. Just did ~180 of them.

I'll have to have the radio shop do that...We had a drill today where 20 XTS2500's were used and the only complaint was that it was too quiet. Thanks!

Not officially, but if you have your radio shop open a case with the product group at Motorola they'll get an "Oh.... uh... yeah. Do this..."

Motorola inconsistency. 1 Dept, Motorola paid for it, the other they didn't.
There is also a shield to be added to the front housing depending how old the radios are. changes the acoustical properties of the radio.
Good luck

If they ARE IS, I suggest shipping them back to M for the upgrade. However, they may not come back as XTS2500's...

could be anything based on my recent dealings with them. Ship a XTS1500, get a CP200 back. I wasn't happy. Neither was the customer.

Too bad you can't ship out a CP200 and get an XTS 5000R III with AES, FPP, trunking etc back.

Our radio shop looked into this issue with Motorola and couldn't get anywhere, can someone give me some more details on what they should be looking for? Such as TSB number contact person?
Thanks...

Can anyone tell me how to locate R505? I definitely have the skills to do the switch, but without a schematic or diagram....? I have been out of the electrical engineering field for 13 years now. When I went to college resistors looked very different. Any help would be great....
thanks
