echolink and mcx1000

Post by mccobra »

I there im setting up a echolink with a mcx1000 vhf and was wondering if there is a way to have audio comming out of the rear that does not vary with the front volume control, what i would like to do is to have the audio level going to the computer on at the same level 24hrs a day and still be able to turn the volume down in the front of the radio for at night. Without affecting the echolink system. Is this possible?

thanks

I don't believe the MCX 1000 supports this functionality without internal modifications to the radio.

A MaxTrac or RADIUS GM 300 would be the ideal radio to use for this, preferably one with the expanded accessory connector so that you don't need to perform any internal modifications to the radio.
