Performance of XTS3000 on VHF versus..

I own both an XTS3000 UHF and VHF, both have fairly late DSP/HOST's and are not hacked, and came from reliable sources (ie, not Ebay crap). Here's what I notice, the MTS2000 analog radio just plain hears and sounds better on ANALOG of course. I just got an MTS2000 today from N7MAQ and I can hear VHF conventional repeaters clear and crisp that don't even open the "fake" squelch of my XTS3000 VHF. Hitting the monitor button and I can hear the carrier though it has much more white noise. I've noticed this on both my UHF and VHF XTS3000's. Both radios have been to an MSS and they come back with a clean bill o' health. On digital, the XTS3000's are knock-your-socks off excellent, as is their sensitivity and error correction- so I must ask, is it just that the MTS2000/Jedi's are better analog radios? Comments?
