Quick question -

A couple weeks ago a friend of mine pointed out that if you hit: On + Enter + C + F all at the same time, you get in to a menu called CONFIG. Once in there, you can hit load, and you can load U.0... if you get a menu playing around and see SU Erased - don't freak out - your keys are still there...

What is that used for? You can also erase it, etc.

I don't have a 3011 manual handy to read up on it, then again?

Intersting. I will have to look at my manual on that one when I have a chance. I don't recall anythign about that..........

If you hit LOAD, you get a normal looking key entry prompt, starting with U.0. After that, you get "SU rEAdy". This key entry mode performs the normal DES parity checks.

Still NFI what it's for. I've done this with a secure equipped MTS 2000 connected, and after hitting the fill button and various others, not much happens.

Once in the CONFIG mode you can enter a unique shadow key which is used to decrypt data received from the KMC. Also the CONFIG allows you to set the KVL's MDC ID which uniquely identifies the KVL to the KMC.

Would anyone have a extra 3011DX manual or know of a on line version.

Einstein is correct (of course!)

According to the manual, you only need to press C + On to get into config mode.

Anybody know where I can learn more about the T3011DX? I just got one but don't have a manual. I have read Batdude's Motorola Two-Way Encryption Products and Protocols. Very interesting.
