I have a high split UHF Astro Saber 3 that is in great condition, but is only
flashed as an analog radio. Is it possible to have it upgraded to Support APCO 25?
The Info on the radio now is:

Codeplug = 000A
Firmware = 3.20.01.00
DSP Software = I05.00.18
System Package = H35
Flash Code = 000001-000000-9
Flashport = 1 Meg

It depends.....If the Astro Saber you have has a One Meg Board installed, yes it can be easily upgraded by Motorola. If they want to do it or not is a different story. There are those around that can do it for you other than Motorola.... Both the Firmware and the flash need to be upgraded.
If you have a 512K Board is also possible to get the radio to be upgraded to IMBE via Motorola. If they will still do it. There was a release of IMBE firmware for the 512K radios at some point. They may or may not do it.
Now economically it would not be worth it to go to Motorola for this type of upgrade. It would cost way more than you can buy another Surplus Astro Saber 3 that is capable of IMBE. They have been going for less than $300.00 on a regular basis on eBay. To do this through Motorola would cost signifagantlly more.
Hope this answers your question.
