I am having an issue with the com port on my Ibm Thinkpad 600. I can program my m1225 using the windows RSS, in the rss it tells me that my com port it com 3, also device manager says that too, when i go into dos mode, my dos rss only gives me the option of com port 1 and 2, but i dont have a com 1 or 2. Is there a fix, i cant select com 3 in the dos rss, so i cant program my maxtracs. is there a fix for this?

I have the same problem where it will not even find a COM port. I checked the BIOS made sure it was set there.
I am gonna be sure there needs to be a setting at the dos prompt or some driver from IBM.

I've read in past Thinkpad posts where the IR port interferes with the serial port. Try disabling the IR in the BIOS, if there is one.

another thing is that sometimes windows will change the numbers, if your usb is port 1 in windows and your serial port is 2 in windows, when you restart in dos, your serial port will probablly be port 1 in dos since dos won't use the usb port.
