Nope.....16 only.....You can set it up to program it without the programing key.

the JT1000 is nothing but an HT1000 with the capability to edit the c/p on the fly, with the c/p being only 640 bytes of RAM there isn't much room to do anything. it doesn't even have enough memory nor the firmware to support channel names.

so u are saying a 16ch jt1000 can't have channel names. this jt1000 appears to be only 16chan software doesn't give an option to assign more channels but it has full keypad and display for alpha tags

JT1000s have a display, but the display only shows names as "CHANNEL 16". You can't edit it to make it say anything else.

You do understand that jt1000's are front panel programable right? That is the reason for the display.

in the HT1000/JT1000 RSS there is a "JT1000 options" screen, your choices for display are either CHANNEL xx (1-16) or frequency and code- (ie, 453.6125 100.0, will display TX data when you key up, like a ham radio). But that's it, no support for displaying channel names. As stated the keypad and display are for field programming.
