I am in the process of converting my W7 head to an 05 control head. I have it up and running and it has assigned itself some of the functionality from the W7 but not all that I need. When I look under Radio Config-->Controls-->05 Control Head, it shows me the where I can assign the buttons, but I cant seem to change anything. Any help on this would be great

This is some shots of what I see in the software and what I see on the head. I also wonder where the soft menu items came from when I converted the heads?

Read the radio.
In the RSS, click on the + for the "RADIO CONFIGURATION".
Then click on the + for "CONTROLS".
Then double click on the "DISPLAY & MENU".
This is where you add or remove the button functions you want.

Hope this gets you what your trying to do.

Thanks Jim that was what I was looking for, I should have seen that

I seem to be having troubles with the Keypadmic side button programming. They dont seem to work. I am trying to get MSG on the top button (no dot) and it comes out on the bottom (two dots). When I reversed it I got just bonks telling me they wer unprogrammed. Any ideas?

PS I dont have the same troubles with programming the side buttons on an 03 hand held control head

One thing to remember on the O5 head is that even though you added a function for a button, it will only display if it is functional. As an example, if you add the DIR function for changing the radio from direct to repeater operation, it will not display the button on channels that are only simplex (same TX and RX freqs).
