Jottodesk Charger console in a non-police package Charger?

I was just looking at the Jottodesk Dodge Charger console and wondering if anyone has done any installs in a non-police package version of this car?

http://www.jottodesk.com/install/1008.pdf

Based on that install document, I can see where the shifter would be on the standard POV version... Yes - it would eliminate the ability to utilize at least 2 of the equipment slots on the console, but , I THINK it could be done if I am able to make or obtain something that will "fill" the space around the shifter.

Anyone have any constructive feedback?

How tall is the console vs. the height of the shifter? I've only seen a civvie Charger for a brief moment, so I can't make a good guess as to how the shifter interferes with the placement of the console.

Other concerns would be electronics placed on the hump under the console like SRS modules, etc that the Jotto would have to mount over. The first step would be taking the OE console out and checking under it for interference, then check the heights as I mentioned above.

It's a neat idea if you can get it to work and look decent.

The police-package Charger has SRS stuff mounted on the center hump... the Havis console actually shows the various allowable equipment depths along the console, as the bottom is contoured to fit the OEM stuff.

Now, if you have the big-pimpin stereo option and they put an amp/subwoofer/etc. there, it's a different story.

It appears that there may be about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch difference in height between the jottodesk and the shifter - with the jottodesk being higher.

I can live with that kind of difference.

I have 2 radios that I want to setup - one can go in front of the shifter - the other to the rear.

The shifter is on the right side of the console - leaving about an inch to the right. I could fill-in the area around the shifter with either blank panels or fashion a metal plate with a cut-out for the shifter.

The 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch I would fill in with some kind of spacer - purely for cosmetics.. Foam rubber perhaps? Something to that effect.

It's either that or see if the dodge dealership would be able to convert my car to a steering column shifter. There is a hole just below the steering wheel where the shifter would go. Lord knows how much that would cost me though.

Why do all this instead of side-mounting the radios on the side of the console? Because that looks cheesy!

After my last install with a Jottodesk into my former 2005 Ram 1500, I learned how good a professional grade install can look. I'd spend the money to get that look if need be!

What motor is yours? 3.5 or 5.7? Any radios installed in it yet?
