CDM 1250 Power up
Hello all,
I have possible problewwith a CD1M1250 low band. It is wire to battery power and to ignition sense. It is programmed to follow ingnition sense only with no other pins connected or programmed. The problem I am having is that each time the ignition is turned off then back on the radio reverts back to channel 1. This happens every time and does not matter what channel is was on when turned off. It does have a hame key programmed @ P3. I have removed the button assignment and set the CPS for no revert. No success. I also loaded a code plug from a different CDM1250 that does not do revert to channel one with no success. The radio still reverts back to channel 1. Has anyone encountered this problem and fix.
Thanks, Chris

What is the firmware version in the radio?

Re: CDM 1250 Power up
firmware version comes up as unknown. Code plug version is 2.18
Re: CDM 1250 Power up
Unknown displays as a firmware version if you look at the radio's saved codeplug. You have to do a read from the CDM and then look at the firmware version because it's not saved with the codeplug.
Re: CDM 1250 Power up
Al is correct, the FW will not display in a saved archive. As an alternative to reading the radio in CPS and looking at it live, assuming that the menu option was left enabled in the programming, you can page down to the Utilities \ Software Version # in the radio's front panel menus and see the version # there. The original factory version is also listed on the tag on the chasis. Obviously, the tag is irrelevant if the radio was subsequently upgraded.
I'm betting that the radio has an old firmware version. I believe that this is a bug that got corrected somewhere along the line.

Re: CDM 1250 Power up
My guess is that you have wired the radio so that chassis power, as well as ignition sense, is switched. Perhaps it is in a rig with a Battery Master switch? In order to retain selected channel state, chassis power must remain uninterrupted; move the chassis power from the load side of the Master to the feed side.
Re: CDM 1250 Power up
If he does a proper power down via the power button on the volume control with the radio on the channel he wishes to start on it should power up on that channel afterwards.
Re: CDM 1250 Power up
Only if chassis power is not interrupted.

Re: CDM 1250 Power up
Firmware is R05.02.00. So I do not think it is a firmware issue.
Re: CDM 1250 Power up
Well, the current firmware version is R05.05.22, and there's been quite a few versions released between yours and the current version, some of which dealt with power/ignition sense problems.

Use CPS to dissable home revert channel or start up chanel.
Please send the codeplug if can't fix the problem.
