How the heck do you get the center light off so you can drill a mount into the roof of these things????? There are no screws to remove it. I would like to go ahead of the back window but can't get the headliner down far enough without taking that center light off. HELP.

Pictures would also be helpfull

Thanks :o

RIVETS
Right from the 1997 Lumina service manual:

REMOVE or DISCONNECT

1. Lens by unsnapping from base plate
2. Bulb
3. Drill rivets with 1/8" drill bit
4. Dome lamp base plate screws (with SEO 9C3)
5. Electrical connectors and remove base plate from headliner

INSTALL or CONNECT

1. Electrical connections and base plate to headliner
2. Dome lamp base plate screws (with SEO 9C3)
3. Rivets to base plate.
4. Bulb
5. Lens by snapping into base plate.

That is it.

Jason

PS - I was able to get my two roof mounted antennas in without removing the dome light. I had someone hold down the head liner (almost creasing it) while I drilled and ran the coax.

We are not talking about the police light in the front, but the normal light in the middle correct? Why would they do it that way??? DUH

The old days you just unscrewed the thing.

Thanks

Yes they are talking about the center dome light. I believe the SEO 9C3 part would pertain to the police dome light between the visors. That is screwed in. The main dome lamp in a civilian vehicle is with rivets. I will go take a look at mine once.
