Gp300 5-T, with only even number on display?

Post by asdfg »

Hi people, we have a GP300 5-T with only even number channel on display, only every second channel on display (2, 4,6,8,10,12,14,16). I did not try to repair , yet. Is there somebody that knows what is it?!

What radios do you own?: XTS2500/5000, XPR7550/5550

Silly question, but have you looked at the codeplug? Is it possible that whoever programmed it just programmed every other channel? I'd look into that first.

Question is not that silly! Selector work all correct! It has all correct criteria on his outputs and that is going direct to microprocessor, whose I am not able to stake out! So, on display I have a just 2,4,6,8,10,12,14 and 16 representing, and on position 1 is 2, and on position 3 is 4 and so on. On position 1 and is in fact chanel 2.

Hello:
My experience with a GP300 that did as you described was as follows.
My Gp300 while not your GP300-5T is similar in function as for channel selecting.
The GP300 i had come in was doing as you described but on the odd channels as i recall - Its been awhile back since that repair.
The ch knob actualy uses one circuit in the switch for all even ch and yet another for all odd ch as the common feed .
But then uses the balance of the 16ch sw circuits to select any of the others in the odd/even circuit mode selected per the sw.
So my qeuss is you may have a faulty ch sw that has lost its common odd ch feed internaly to the sw or on the circuit bd from the odd ch sw circuit.
The other posibility could be the code plug needs a refreshing from a backup saved code plug.
I dont recall the model number being mentioned but i might be able to get you a code plug for a UHF GP300-5T in the 438/470 band if it would match your model number.
What is your model number ?

I attempted to put other codeplug from same model into radio and to programme factory codeplug but nothing. It appears to me that microprocessor is fault. Radio is P93YPC29C2AA VHF 5-T.
