Tone Remote Adapter to Maxtrac?

I'll be hooking up a T5600 console to a Tone Remote Adapter (TRA) to a MaxTrac 300. The TRA already has the MaxTrac 16pin accy connector, so it's all ready to go.
In the MaxTrac RSS, what settings do I assign the various pins? I'm guessing beacause it will be a Tone'd radio that the various pin settings on the MaxTrac have to be changed - and to what I have no idea.

My two bits worth:
The MaxTrac does not care whether the adapter is tone or DC.
This application only requires RX-TX audio, as well as PTT and PL monitor.
These signals are hard wired to the accessory connector on all models.
There is supposed to be a jumper plug in the mike jack if no microphone is present to enable PL mute.
You should be good to go with the 16 pin cable.
By the way, only the 16 channel version has pin programming.

Mine's a 32 Channel/"Hi Signalling Board" 16 pin radio.
Now another question - will it support channel steering of all 32 modes? If it doesn't, it's not a huge deal - I usually only use 1 or 2 channels on UHF primarily, so if I need to get up and manually flip up or down channels it's not a PITA. The T5600 console doesn't have any mode up/down buttons on it so I figured the console itself just uses whatever channel the radio is on and that's it.

But this is where you are mistaken with the function of the T5600. There are no up or down buttons. What you have is direct frequency selection by using the tone remote function tones to select your channel. As far as I can tell, Maxtrac does NOT support frequency selection by a programmable pin. The M216, however does...but to a limit of two channels. Ground one to get channel one and ground the other to get channel two.
Others may correct me, because I am asleep right now, but frequency selection beyond two channels falls to a GM300 mobile. You can set up a total of three or four pins to give you BCD channel access. But then, you need a BCD tone remote adapter that understands function tones that go from select F1 to select F12...and most of time those stop at select F8.
Motorola makes/made one that was a private labeled thing that was a combination RICK and TRA. I have one in the basement that I never tried, but to the best of my knowledge that's the only one that does this. I am probably mistaken, but so be it.
You need to set up a set of buttons on your 5600 to give you f1 to f8. Make sure your tones are correct and go from there.
What it really sounds like you need is a Spectra or Desktrac with a DGT9000 remote. That will give you what you want with respect to up/down and all around control.
Good Luck and good night.

Thanks for the reply.
I have a Spectra consolette here too that is connected to an RCH3000 (Digital Ver. of the DGT) and works just fine - except it won't show SoftID's, but it will show the numerical Astro ID's. I'm not sure why this is, but it's no big deal.
