Does anyone know the specs on the MSR2000 VHF power amp

Which one?
When asking a question, always include the kit number and any relevant meter readings if you are troubleshooting as well as the application in which you are using the amp.
What do you want to know? Drive level, output power, current consumption? Size, weight?

Standby is 0.55 amps
800 MHz 15 watts TX 6.5 amps
800 MHz 35 watts TX 13.5 amps
UHF 10 to 25 watts TX is 9.5 amps
VHF 1 to 25 watts TX is 9.5 amps
RX at 4 watts audio max drain is 1.5 amps
Other than that you need to be more specific in your question.

Thanks your correct when I reread the post I was vague. One of those things when you know what you want to say.
I am looking for the drive level input I will be using a GM300 to drive the amp and not want to over drive it. So the input wattage is what I am looking for

The input power to the PA is in the miliwatts, 400 or 500 miliwatts. You can not turn a GM300 down below 10 watts or so. They go spurious.

The exciter on my VHF MSR2k dumps out 200mw..
You might try bypassing the PA on the GM300, just lift the line into the 1st transistors and route that to the antenna connector.
Its worth a shot.

If you are so bound and determined to make a freakenstein out of this situation, I would use a LPI GM300 with an attenuator. A 25 watt 6 db attenuator should not be that expensive to find.
