Is a regular saber speaker mic usable on an astro saber? I know batteries and chargers are compatible, but not sure of mics and don't want to mess the radio up.

Thanks,

Rob

No, the speaker mics are not compatible. Especially the public safety mics.

hmmm....ok Well I have an NMN6128C and its working fine with my Astro Saber. I left off the piece that goes over top the antenna and screws down since it didn't fit and am just using the regular antenna screwed down. TX/RX volume..etc....all work ok.

Thanks for the replies.

the Saber square head mic will work with a Astro. The antenna nut is MX thread, astro is SMA. The Astro mic jedi style will not work with a Saber. But there is a Jedi Saber mic that is made for the standard saber..

Thanks for the info. Can I order a new sma style nut to install into the speaker mic..or is it something I should not worry about using? I do have the square head mic.

What the hell are you smoking? I have a mic that I use on both my Astro Saber and analog Saber interchangeably. It is an NMN6128C.

Only if you remove the part of the connector that mates with the antenna connector.
