Can the NTN1340C tray be used without the other box?

What are the pinouts for what to connect to make it work this way?

Not without a lot of work..

The NTN1340C is just the holder, there is very little in the way of electronics in there (essentially just a audio volume control circuit to supply the amplified speaker.)
The rest of the electronics, including the microprocessor controlled charging circuitry are all located in the control module.
