Hi all,

Bought a couple of MTX838 Jedi radios the other week, have yet to program them. Was also thinking of getting a GP300 because I've heard they're very good. Ive used Waris radios before and the range, durability, etc totally sucked in my situation (UHF high split, mainly simplex). I mucked around with a Jedi once before and got excellent range, twice that of the Waris radios, and it was more durable, etc. Just wondering how the GP300 compares to the MTX with range, and any other nice features, for UHF. Any input is helpful!

Lastly, as a side note (sorry for going off topic a little bit) but anyone notice how quiet the board has become? What gives, I haven't been online for a while and came back on here and post numbers have slowed right down? lol, Just though't I'd ask

We perfer the Jedi and the GP300 over the Warez stuff due to the poor receive problems.

I think you will be happy with the Jedi radio in the UHF high range,
476 range if I remember that you use there. The GP300 in the 470-490 range is a good performer too.

The one problem you mite run into is the Motorola jedi UHF antennas break at the base of the whip where it connects to the female connector on the antenna. There is a small piece or solid wire that is used as a jumper from the flexable whip to the connector center pin. This piece of wire has a lot of inductance at UHF and hence the whip is shorter overall than a true quarter wave.
