When I have a speaker mic on my AS its much louder than the internal speaker. Does this indicate a blown speaker or do I need to turn up the "minium volume" option via the RSS? The internal speaker does start to distort at high volumes also. I read BatDude's guide on how to disassemble the AS, doesn't look to difficult to get to the speaker.

The Astro Saber internal speaker is part of the unit's front
shield. The shield is held in place by tabs top and bottom and
there is a lot of room for vibration etc. Best way to check is
to get hold of a substitute shield and see if it changes the audio.
Also check inside and see if the speaker itself might be loose.
Take the case off the radio and see what you find; the shield
will be looking at you when you remove the case.

A hollow reverbation or echo effect is not rare in the Astro Saber. It may be that the careful placement of a tiny bit insulating material may reduce this problem. The speaker does not necessarily have to be blown to sound that way.
