I recently put 15 PR-1500's into service. I do not have the programming software yet to make them fit my needs exactly, so I have been having my local radio shop program them. I had to use the ABC switch for zoning. I was curious if this radio is capable of being put into scan program mode by a side button? I have the scanlist programmed in, but I would like it to be field programmable if possible. Any input would be appreciated.

Also, is the software for this radio the same as the XTS-5000's?

Yes, the side button can be used as scan on/off and scan program (press and hold)

Astro25 Portable CPS works with the PR1500 (same as XTS5000)
