From what I understand, the P1225 & P1225LS are two separate radios due to the firmware. I belive the P1225 firmware is all Motorola and the P1225LS firmware is part Scholer-Johnson. The RF portion of the radios are the same, but the logic programming and software/firmware are completely different animals. This is why they have completely different RSS packages. A related issue is why Professional model portables won't use MDC1200 in LTR modes is because it is not licensed by Scholer-Johnson and so MDC only works in conventional modes in this radio. A shining example of outsourcing and B2B.

What are you talking about? First, the LTR boards in
factory P1225ls radios are NOT Scholer-Johnson. True, they do make
aftermarket boards (which actually do a whole lot more than the Motorola ones), but that's all.
Secondly, your last comment is completely ass-backwards. The professional series radios for a fact do MDC1200 in LTR modes. It's the conventional modes that they won't do them in (don't ask me why not, it's just the way it is).
You are correct that the RSS for the P1225ls radios is a different package than the regular P1225.
To answer the original question, I think so. The LTR board resides in the same space as the keypad/QCII board, so it may fit, albeit with a modification or two. Personally, I'd settle for having an unused keypad.
