Anyone have any idea how hard it is to convert the HT1250LS+/CDM1550LS+ 220MHz radios to 222-224 ham band? I hear that it is possible, just want to know how it's done. Any help is appreicated.

No can do. Hard-coded bandsplits as far as I know. I have several 220MHz HT1250LS+ units I'd love to make work on 222-225.

Okay, thanks, i thought i had read another post where someone said it was very easy. Guess i misread or they were wrong LOL

I believe the easy ones are the older GP300 series portables, et. al.

It can be done. I've personally played with one that had been configured for the 220 ham band and did indeed talk there. Unfortunately, the modification was done "inside the company" and no details were available.

I have heard that the waris series can be taken out of band...

At one time I owned a factory GP300 that covered 220. There was a seller on e-Bay hawking 220 GP300's and GM300's at one time.

My radio was definitely an Asian import. The characters on the sticker on the back of the radio looked Korean.

You never said it was possible. "No can do" infers impossibility. I confirmed that it had indeed been done, and that I had personally used one of the units... but, unfortunately, it was done inside the company and no details as to how the mod was accomplished were available. See, it's called a "follow-up" with "additional information". Someone with enough skills could probably make it happen. I don't have those sorts of skills.

The OPs question has been answered. Since you felt the need to come along and ruin the thread... locky locky.
