VRS-EP TX Problem

Post by Conundrum »

Hi All,

Like a few of us on here, I purchased one of the VRS-EP units off eBay. I am having a problem with it now. After the VRS has been on for about 30 minutes with very little TX/RX, when transmitting it gets a loud buzzing/humming on it to the point where you can't hear the transmission, then after that, it won't even break squelch on the portable, but it still receives fine. I was wondering if anyone had any info on these or experience with these units.

Any help would be great.

I also have one of these units. I would check the TX crystal to make sure the soder is good. Other then that I would check out the portable or check out the VRS with an other portable.
