Digital Record Chip and 2 Tone Paging Question

Ok, to add some consitency to my pages that my staff sends out I was wondering if it was possible using a simple voice record chip to record my tones and message for paging out and allow it to be triggered from a single button sending it through a maxtrac or spectra. I understand some audio amping and buffering and such may be needed and I can handle the circuit design as such. I need to send out the same tones and page every time, and if I can keep it simple all the better for my staff. If I would need an additional page out I'd add a second circuit to do that. What I'm asking is has anyone done this or consider it and if so did it work? I'm not sure on the audio quality out of the resonably priced chips to do this. I figure cool edit pro or something similar could create the tones or record them direct off my zetron encoder, and then just editing the audio part of the page onto the wave file and dumping it on the chip. Let me know what you think. All said and done this might make a neat little paging encoder for cheap.

http://www.cfsound.com/index_CFSound.asp It has a contact available to key the TX.

Yes, I have done it and used a older chip (ISD1416).
We use it for emergency buttons in public places. We used just a warble tone and voice, but have also done paging and voice. Freq stability is good over temp. range. It is recorded with a wav file.
We used this Quadravox QV400D prototype board to do the recordings (bottom of page):

The CF card option would allow you to pre-load a cf card & swap it out at the control site, rather then re-programming in place. What's your budget for this project?

Wow. That CFSound item is really cool. Good price, plug and play.

I think that I will order one to play with.

Had a chance to play with the ACS labs CFSound III unit. Using Adobe Audition to splice the tones together with the audio portion, I was able to reliably trigger Motorola PR3000 voice pagers. The transmitter is a 16Pin VHF M43GMC29C2AA radio on 152.0075.

You can also use a dirt cheap microcontroller to generate the tones in a number of different ways if you know how to program them:

Thanks for that info. I believe that the requirement is to generate the paging tones and a pre-recorded voice message when activated.

Ahh, gotcha. Missed the part about the voice also.

Was cleaning a backboard (the telecomm kind) and found a digital recorder box. Model is NTL3000. You can have it for shipping cost. (should be less then $10.00 UPS ground) Product link is http://www.norelcotele.com/product-sect ... n-hold.htm .
