Hello all. I have 2 BRAND NEW from the depot HT1250. Stickers off the back read as follows:

Ver. No R05.13.04
Model AAH25KDF9AA5AN

I am using software version R06.05.03, Supported Regions AA AZ

This was bought in AMERICA from again Motorola vendor.

When I try to read either radio, I am getting the following error.

Window 1) Unsupported Model
click ok...

then get...Application does not support reading this file.

I have tried to write a saved codeplug into one and get this error code:

80040154: Couldnt creatInstance on the device after getting UUID
Then click ok and get this one...
Unable to get codeplug from the device in order to verify whether we can write to this device or not

PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

Thanks

open your cps and click on the help tab then about cps then details. make shure AA is in the center of the box, if it isn't then that is your problem, if it is then you need to upgrade your cps, the newest is 6.09.06. if you got your cps from someone other than motorola, get your money back, they are not authorized to sell it.

Like HLA said, R06.05.03 is now an old release. If you have a legit license through Motorola, just download the current R06.09.06. If the radios are brand new, they were probably programmed with a newer version than your current copy.

that actually should still work, i'll have to update my radio to 5.13 and see if one of my old cps versions will read it? i have 5.12 in my radio right now and i've used 6.09.06 on it and it still reads with 6.04. just curious how you only got AA and AZ? did you have an older copy of AZ at one time and put the newer AA over it? if you did the registry hack it should of opened it up to all regions, not just those.

I just looked up the release notes for 5.13 and in big red letters it sayz 6.09.06 must be used with the 5.13.04 firmware.

I am having this problem as well with a new department 1250. Out of curiosity, because the department bought the radio from M and they have the older software, does buying the new radio that needs the new CPS entitle the dept to get a new version of the CPS from big M?

Nope. Motorola releases new firmware & CPS versions with no regard to whether it'll cause problems in the field or not. You're stuck with purchasing the latest CPS release from them.

FWIW, there is a "bug" in the latest Pro Series CPS. The upgrade utility does NOT uninstall the old version of software. I opened a case and was told by the product group that there are no compatability issues with having multiple versions of the same software installed, however you would need to create a new desktop icon or edit the existing icon if that is how you open up the software since the utility does not modify the existing icon.

Also, to confirm, there region incompatability message is definitely coming from the software and firmware version mismatches. This is another good example of what happens when work is outsourced to places that don't use English as a primary language. The whole point of having error messages is negated when the error message is not related to what caused the error message.

I guess I'm gonna have to pass the big $ over to M for the new CPS. Does anyone know how often they release a new version? I don't want t o buy R06.09.06 only to have them put out a new one a week later.

You should get three years of updates...

(M) are not the swiftest at sending updates by CD. Even when we get software updates by MOL, not all products we have signed agreements for show up for download. We've gone round and round with our reps numerous times about this, and despite the vaunted July 2006 memo stating MOL would always be up-to-date with the latest subscriptions for your account, we've found "surprise" shipments of radios which could not be programmed and we had to wait weeks to get a CD shipped or for the site to allow us access to the latest version. Grrrr....
