Does Motomesh work?

Has anybody had any experience with Motomesh or any other manufacturer's mesh networking used to meet interoperability requirements on 800 Mhz? I'd be interested to hear of the results.

What requirements are there ? Mesh is a broadband selfhealing broadband solution ...

Motomesh is not 800mhz, it is 2.4G/4.9G.
Are you thinking of MotoBridge? Like a JPS ACU that bridges multiple radios together?

Well, the case I was thinking of is a mesh network, self-healing as mentioned, using 800 Mhz radio, sold by a company other than Motorola. I was under the impression that Motomesh could operate at any RF frequency from 800 Mhz on up, but I could be wrong.
People who commented on my original post know, I'm sure, what's involved for software and hardware. My original question remains unanswered: If you've had any experience with mesh networks at 800 Mhz, was it good or bad?

I am still attempting to understand your question. You talk about 800 MHz interoperability which is mobile voice communications and then Motomesh which is a broadband "WiFi" type data network infrastructure. I don't understand your application for Motomesh type technology to provide interoperable 800 MHz voice communications. Are you looking at a Motomesh network as a fixed link between dispatch centers or base station sites to control an 800 MHz dispatch system?
Putting those questions aside, there is no "broadband" spectrum availble in the 800 MHz mobile band for Motomesh type technology. There are some narrowband mesh type systems that use operational fixed frequencies in the 900 Mhz range for telemetry applications.

Glad I'm not the only one

We just had the guys from FireTide in yesterday...

Ya like the others said, the mesh networking you're referring to has nothing to do with 800MHz 2-way radio communications unless you're talking about doing a RoIP (radio over IP) application. Even then, it's not 800MHz between nodes, it still uses the 802.11 a/b/g standard within the mesh.
