A lot of Crown Vics get an intermittant squeak in the front end. What causes it and how do you fix it?

Dont buy a Ford,
Actually I have seen it in some of the 99-2002 PI's it has to do with the bushings in the front end, over time it gets sloppy

Actually, the squeak is called a "Motion Approachment Alert Device".

Yup. Had an Explorer that did it too, and it was the front end bushings.

Also check clearance and condition of hood spacer thingys...
I had the passenger side bust (brittle plastic)... Had spring sounding noises anytime I hit a speedbump, dip, etc... Replaced the broken plastic retainer and the noise went away

Grease the hood stops and the latch assembly, let us know if it goes away.

Hood stops... Thats the word I was looking for

Also make sure they're in proper adjustment, i.e. hood sits on them in a level manner...
