XTL5000 out of band programming

We have several 110 watt UHF XTL5000 Mobiles. They are fairly new (within last year). Apparently because they are 110 watts, the band with is from 430-470 MHz. only (or close too). Anyway, our county is going to use freqs up around 504 MHz. or in that area. The other UHF mobiles (lower power version) cover from like 430-512MHz., but the higher power only goes to 470 MHz.
Is there a way to "bypass" or program the higher freqs into this radio by doing anything? This is important. THANKS

Same procedure as the XTS5000, except you hex edit the PatMob file instead of the Patport file... Pushing a low split XTL up to around 504 mhz is a bit much... The radio might not stay locked 30+ mhz out of band....

I'd like to read more in detail how this is done.
My radios are XTL5000 UHF 450-520 MHz, and need to go below 450 MHz.
I have the latest CPS and Hex Workshop.

This is actually good news (I think). Can someone please give me a little more info on how to perform this mission. I need to try it on one of them and see how it works. I will then, if it works great, will do it on about 20 others. I have some "smarts", but don't know where to start for this mission of getting in and changing things (hex editing), if someone would be patient and offer a friend a hand in guidance. I'll start by stating that you are wasting your time...34MHz is simply too far out of band for the radio to operate. The VCO will not lock.
That said, learning how to hex edit can be fun & could come in handy for modifying the software at some future point for another purpose.
I recommend reading through some of the hex modifications for other radios on Batlabs. The GM300 & Maxtrax pages contain a wealth of information on how to use Hex Workshop

I usually use either 2.54, or 3.11, since that's the versions which are used in the Batlabs pages.

Well what about getting a 380 to 470 to cover 477. or so? Can it be done and if so what in the config file would you specifically edit?

Yes, I would love to know that too. Being a "1st time" hex edit person. Thanks for any responses. I'm only looking to go to around 490 area. Thanks

The highest I've pushed a 380-470 XTS/XTL is a tx of about 479 and some change.. As said before though, you might get one radio to go that high, and another will not... they are all different..

I would agree that it is a crap shoot so to speak. I had 6 XTS3000's and I did a little experiment. I upped the limit to 512Mhz and programmed 30 channels from 471 to 500. I got one of the 6 to lock at 484.675. Above that was a total waste. The others would not go past 478. Just my experience.

The 25W 380-470 radio definitely goes to 477MHz with no trouble that I've seen, and it performs fairly well there.
