Tried looking for it in the gallery, but I can't identify it? It looks like "Motorola" with the batwing logo to me. RAM Mount says it's a "police operational radio equipment." http://www.ram-mount.com/reviews/euro.htm

Wow. Thanks, tvsjr. Looks like something they should port over to their iDEN network.

The photos are new family from Motorola - Tetra MTH 700 or MTH 800, which is early days Tetra products. Today, Moto's Tetra handheld evolves to state-of-the-art products such as MTP850 - a cellphone size compact version equipped with color LCD, PSTN/PABX acess, one GSM SIM cardslot, built-in GPS with 2 inches long GPS/UHF triband antenna, 2048 trunk channels plus 1024 direct mode channels, also built-in covert mode and vibrator.

It also equipped with roaming capabilities for roaming in Asia as well as in Europe ! (not only cellphone roaming, but also trunking mode roaming, i.e. a Korean police brings his MTP850 to London can PTT back to Korean HQ without the need of manual patching effort, or just simply talk direct to a police in Hong Kong !)

All these feature supported by a single 3.6v Li-Ion battery good for 2-days operation

Another Tetra version - MTC100 is even a PDA design of less than a palm size!

What a fast move in RT technology !

Yes as long as its authorised to roam onto that network. The good thing about the Europe Public Safety band is that ALL TETRA users are on the same frequency bands enabling roaming if it was ever needed accross a massive scale. Most non Europe TETRA users also user this band for PS comms.

We use these all the time, but ours our MTH800's with colour display. Very nice and easy to use, just like a cell phone.

Compare these to a 1 ton XTS5000 and you can see where the future in radios is.
