What radios do you own?: WAY TO MANY

New Vocon

Post by WV8VFD »

I got a whored out vocon today, but it is set for a M3 and I have a M2. I was wondering if there is anyway to colne my codeplug from the M2 into the M3 vocon. The flash from the M2 vocon is 10001-000000-7.

Thanks

DO you just need to copy the codeplug over from the old to the new? Having it as a M3 in the M2 case won't hurt anything. You could even just get the M3 stuff and have it "coverted" that was at little cost.

If you just need your old M2 stuff in there, open up two copies of CPS, and do a drag/drop.

Heh, I didn't think of needing to copy old codeplug data into the new one. I always just started over from scratch when I upgraded radios or feature sets.. for example, I have 3 UHF mobile codeplugs containing identical data; one for a W7 Range 3 40W, one for a W4 Range 3 110W, and one for a W7 Range 2 25W.

New model 3 cases are somewhere in the $115-125 range from the Big M. Get one of those and then you can do cool things like direct zone entry from the keypad (i.e. instead of hitting the right arrow 7 times to get to Zone 7, you just punch "07" in on the keypad and jump right to it.)

Also, that VOCON was last written with RSS 9.05, fyi.

Ok, Im gonna get a M3 case for Christmas, and I figured out the copy paste thing. I have CPS 05.02.00 so it was no problem.

If you're looking to save a few bucks and don't mind waiting 10 days for shiping; Panter88 on eBay has a lot of cases in like new condition at very reasonable prices. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to make such an endorsement on the board, but my experiences with him have been great.

I've seen them on there before, but you may want to email or p-mail him to see if he has any leftovers. I didn't see any today.
