geeze, i've really be able to get things go so far with this... i have programmed MULTIPLE radios with the USB to Serial adapter, just randomly stopped working...

i am programming XTS-2500's with it. although i can't spend the cash on the usb cable, the OEM serial one was a gift.

i am using a Mac Book Pro using Parallels
Windows XP Pro SP2
ASTRO25 CPS 10.0

error message:
Open Radio Failed
Error Context: 24, Status: c000039e

any ideas guys... i've tried two different USB-Serial cables of the same manufacturer. my next move is to re-install windows on parallels, which is just an overall waste of time.

first i'd stop using a mac and use a regular pc and all of your problems will probablly go away. i know some people on here have said they got a mac to work with motorola programs but motorola cps and rss don't like any kind of emulation.

ok, update...

1st of all, my mac isn't using emulation, newer macs have intel pentium core duo chips, and can run microsoft windows natively. i wouldn't try this in emulation mode..

2ndly... i tried to install the cps on my work computer, its a pc with windows xp sp2, with a true serial port, i've tried the cable on 4 different radios, both my two UHF/800 radios, and the 5 or so 800mhz radios in the office... no luck...

it seems to be the cable at this point... any repair or warranty coverage on the $200+ xts2500/5000 cable?

i'd still stay away from the mac but as far as the xp machine and your cps, it should be working, if they are oem cables then call motorola and see what they say
