cdm1250 no transmit of voice
Hello, I have a cdm1250 that i have never transmitted on before, now i am a captain at my local fd and i programmed the cdm1250 to transmit on my local fire dispatch 400mhz frequencies(dont ask-we are close to canadian border) i am transmitting on my radio with a known good microphone, and cant seem to get it to work very well. The radio recieves all channels awesome, but when i transmit, only my mdc id shows(no voice is heard) up on another radios screen and once or twice the portable could hear me all broken apart, but i hear a beep, i dont hear the mdc squelch like i do with other radios after they key the mic. can i send my codeplug to someone so they can view it and see what i may have done wrong. i dont have a watt meter to measure the output of my radio, but i dont think its a dead transmit issue. please let me know.

I'll take a look at it. I PM'd you the info to send me the codeplug.

Check your your voltage inline when you key up the radio, sounds like you don't have enough juice. Are you using the factory supplied power cable kit? Usualy when the radio beeps that is a sign of low voltage or low amprage.
Re: cdm1250 no transmit of voice
I looked at his codeplug. There is no PL/DPL and there is no repeater off-set. Among other things not correct. I recommended he get with whoever does his fire department communications equipment to have it done professionally since he is no familiar with any of that.

Re: cdm1250 no transmit of voice
actually, i took care of the problem myself. thanks for everyones help. I completly forgot that i had never added the tpl information in the tx area, because all this time i was using this radio as a receive only, when i went to xmit, i had nothing because the repeater wasnt set to 429. I am new to this, but it's fairly simple to program these radios.
