Sorry for all the 1550 questions, but I have yet another one.
I just got a (complete) replacement housing for a refurb,and found the menu/exit buttons are a different color than the original, the new buttons are red/ green as oppossed to black/blue. have they changed? or is this possibly for a european version radio? I'm gonna keep it- as it's unique and it's my own radio. just wondering. thanks

It's most likely a GP1280 or PTX780 housing, they have a Green "Check" and Red "X" button as opposed to the menu and exit keys.

that's exactly what it is, don't know why they do that but it's for an overseas radio but it still works the same.

That actually looks kind of cool. Anybody have a part number for the keypad membrane?
