Is there any timeframe set?

How is the tx and rx performance between the EX600 and the HT1550, does anyone know?

I am wanting to know if I should go EX or switch to Motobro.

Any input is appreciated.

I assume you mean the EX600XLS? The original EX600 was cancelled in 2002 & support at the depot ended Dec 31, 2007.

As far as the EX600XLS...hard to say. There is a cancellation matrix on MOL, but it only lists the products which have already been cancelled, and lists their cancellation dates as well as the end of support dates.

You're guaranteed 5 years support once cancellation occurs. With no new similar model ready to take it's place, I'd imagine it won't be cancelled for at least another 2-3 years. So you're good for quite a while.

I will say I heard at the Toronto Road Show in the fall they were considering discontinuing the HT1550XLS, due to a combination of parts availability becoming scarce, and low sales.

Yes, I was referring to the EX600XLS.

Thanks for the info.

Any idea how the performance is in comparision to the larger version, the HT1550XLS?

I don't know about the HT1550, but we have a customer with plenty of the EX600XLS & also HT1250 series radios. They haven't noticed any appreciable difference in range.

Most people like the 1550 over the 600 for things like battery life, larger display & FPP capabilities. If small size rules all for you, then go for the 600.
