Buy an MTS2000 controller board and the appropriate housing with display..
You can't turn an HT1000 controller board into an MTS2000 if thats what your asking..

What kind of controller board do you have? Does it have a part number on it? If it's an HT1000 board, dumping an MTS archive or an Srec to it will not make it an MTS2000, and you will probably corrupt the board.. If it's an MTX controller, dumping an MTS archive or Srec to it will make it a "fake" MTS2000..
If you want to make a Mod 3 radio, you need a Mod 2 or 3 controller.. A normal MTX or even most Mod 1 MTS controllers wont support a front 14 char display..

Well before you do anything, you need to find out if it's a true MTS board or an MT/MTX controller.. The reason I say that is because if it's a true MTS controller with firmware above R05.42, then you are SOL as far as dumping a VHF plug into it..
To start with, you should connect the controller to your VHF RF section of the HT1000, and install the display housing.. Power it up, and put the radio into service mode.. Find out the firmware of the controller before you go any farther with the conversion..
