Hey guys, I am modifying a siren cable for a syntor x9000... I am adding the connections I need for an PAC/RT... The problem is that I need to get this cable done ASAP and don't have time to wait on a pin extractor... Anybody got any ideas that will get me through??? I have tried just about everything I can think of.. However a lot of the people in here have a heck of a lot more knowledge then I do when it comes to these things...
Thanks in advance for all of the ideas..

I have used a section of the thin metal strip that contact pins, like D-Sub pins and the pins for 16-pin acc. connectors for Radius series mobiles, are sometimes attached to when you get them. There's a bit of a trick to it, and it does take some practice, but it is do-able. Just cut the pins off of about a 2-inch section, and trim all the little protrusions where the pins were attached as close as you can to the main body of the strip. Then, using a pair of needle-nose pliers, carefully slide the strip into the contact housing between the housing and the contact, on the latch side of the contact. The trick is to grasp the strip close to the housing, and gently push a little at a time. I've rebuilt a few cables this way. Its a little time consuming, and nowhere near as easy as using the proper tool, but it does work.
