I have an MT2000 coming to me but forgot to ask the programmer to turn the squelch level up when programming. Is there a way to do it on the radio without me having to go get a programming cable and do it myself?

and is there any chance the MTSX RSS software will run on my vista laptop or am I dreaming?
Thanks

It depends on what you mean by "run". Yes, it will probably run, no, you won't be reading and writing with it. I can edit MT2000 codeplugs in my XP laptop all day long, but I'm not stupid enough to risk my radio to try writing it to the radio. If you want to try, take pictures, lots of pictures

Like I said, you'll possibly be able to edit the CP on vista, just don't read/write with it. So if whoever you are getting it from saved the CP and can send it, save it, edit a copy and save that as well. Then if you need it to be blown into the radio, find someone who has the proper equipment to do it.

The squelch is set in the Service section, not in the programming.

There are a couple of settings in the programming that can help keep a MT2000 from having "barking squelch".

Just reading through this post and was wondering can someone tell me which way the settings need to be to adust this squelch in the tuning software I assume that the higher number of softspot value is the higher threshold can someone tell me if this is corect before I experiment with settings to find out.
and does this also apply to the band pass filter settings? do you need to set them higher or lower for the actual frequency you want to receive??
