MCC5500 66 block punch down connections neded

Looking for info on the 66 block interface connections for use on an MCC5500 console
interface control. In looking at a number of new installations, the punch down
locations seem different than what was used on the older CEB and BIM card 66 block
connections. A PDF of the 66 block connections would be nice.
Also does anyone have the service manual number for the MCC5500? Have not seen
it on the MOL site thus far. Only a few documents with limited info.

If you are maintaining a mcc5500, then you have access to the csdm pc. From the csdm you can do a configuration report, a html file that tells you the pinout for all the punchblocks in you particular system, and it updates as you make changes. Also pdf manuals are on th system software cd.

I am new to the MCC5500 and don't have the system software. Can you provide the manual number that is listed on the CD that may help me? Maybe I am not understanding the
configuration your talking about. My impression was that the physical locations of the
connections don't change on the 66 blocks, only which port is connected there. It
is not so much as to which radio is on what port, but where the 2 wire and 4 wire
connections are made on the block.
I am going in after an install and trying to determine if a 2 wire or a 4 wire connection
is being used. You do know that not all radio techs leave good records. Am also not
willing to get involved with the programming of the box so no one can point the finger
that it was screwed up by the last person on the keyboard. Most of the locations
I am looking at are public safety dispatch centers and can't stand a glitch in the
operation.

If you have MCC500s then you have the CSDM software. It is supposed to be installed on a dedicated computer, though I know of uncertified configurations that have it on the same computer. The CSDM software should be able to tell you the wireline configuration of the stations.

I know better than most about techs, not leaving good documentation, but never the less, the csdm is the way to get the info you want. I do not have the manual part numbers, but i do believe there is a punch block diagram in there, but the 5500 is not like a gold elite, the pin out can change drastically from site to site.

The manuals have the block diagrams of the entire CSDM setup, as it's a 3 manual set that includes the CSDM installation, maintenance and service.
And you can use a single PC to run both, the CSDM and the MCC5500 software, and it will work.
You have to start at the beginning if you are building a new console, then add what you need and move to the next block and so on.
You can't go in reverse and make any changes as the CSDM will tell you that you can not delete or add to an already configured setup, you have to create a new setup through the CSDM and save each configuration.
The CSDM software has both the CSDM and the MCC5500 programming software to configure the CAB, COP, and DAPs.
Did your DAPS come with any iButtons?
Are they Gen II DAPS or Gen I?
Are you configuring any SB9600 systems on your console?
The CSDM requires COM1
I need to get back into the books on this, I just set up a 3 station CSDM installation and I have too many other things dancing in my head to recall every connection for this jewel.
Are you running any radios using wireline, like 2 wire or 4 wire?
Full duplex or half?
Thank goodness the CSDM isn't a DC remote type as those should have died long ago.
There is a firmware update available from Circle-M, and I just updated the consoles to the latest version....check with Circle-M and see what's available for your setup.
The box will include several 'baggies' of PLCC chips for all the boards, including the CAB, but changing them shouldn't take no more than an hour at the most.
There's also a diagram in the manual for connection with an AT&T style SIP, you may be interested in looking at that.
That's about all I can help with since I don't have the books in my posession.
I hope you find what you are looking for.

Can any one of you provide the part number for the manuals? I understand that the
manuals are included with the CD, but I don't have the CD and would like to try to
order just the manuals.

There's a few but I don't know the ones offhand. I'll look into it, and if I find anything I'll let you know.
If you have CSDM, go to File, Configuration Report. It'll tell you the information you most likely need.

Not only will the CD allow you to see the part numbers, but the config. report also provides and up to date output of the current configuration as of the report display.
you can either select the numbered selections, or just scroll down to see each console, its configuration, and the jumpers, switch positions for the cards.
You will also see every setting of the consoles by number, such as TX/RX audio, Recorder audio, Mobile port usage and far more than I can type here.
It has ALL the data your console is set up with.
