Upgrading XTS 3000

Is it possible to flash upgrade an XTS 3000 with a flashcode of 000004-002000-2 or 000001-000000-9 to something like 100001-000000-1 or 500001-000000-1. Would the radio function correctly after such an upgrade? I though that the radio had to be "ASTRO READY" (ANALOG OPERATION) Q241 at minimum to be able to be upgraded to digital. Thanks

Disclaimer: I'm not asking anyone here to do such an upgrade nor am I inquiring about the legality of such an upgrade.

"Astro Ready" is a stupid marketing name Motorola came up with, all it means is the radio is analog only. The fact they designated an option number to it (Q241) means nothing. Any XTS series radio can be converted from analog to digital (or even vice versa, although who'd want it?) with the proper FLASHport upgrade package.

Also, the 000001-000000-9 flashcode is a VSELP digital radio, the other comes back as ASTRO Ready, which means analog only. The Vselp radio should have a I or N dsp, and the astro ready will probably have a A or M dsp, that may change the cost of an upgrade, as the vselp is digital already.

Can an Astro Saber III with flashcode 000001-002000-5 be flash upgraded to something like 100001-000000-1 or 500001-000000-1? Thanks

Sure, with a firmware upgrade as well it can be done.
