I have a wide band license. Can I reprogram for narrow or must I change emission on the license? Is this an admin update? Do I need frequency corrdination? Do I need a major modification on license?

One man's view:
Your existing license sets forth your maximum deviation. You can begin transmitting narrowband (by reprogramming your infrastructure and subscriber equipment; probably no changes needed to your cavities) any time you want.
The imperative for a license change comes from FCC, which wants to preclude wideband transmissions by 1/1/2013.
My guess is that as that date gets closer, FCC will come up with some rules and procedures for handling this, and my guess (and hope) is that one of them will provide for a simple, one-page, no coordination required form for those who are making no changes except 20K0F3E or 16K0F3E to 11K2F3E.
As a result, I've told my folks, even those who are converting their stuff now, to hold off on license changes and see what happens.
