Anyone convert X900-E

I bought a few years ago at Dayton, new in the box Trunked 9000-E control station. It has the X9000 control board with the daughter board. My first question, is the daughter board band specific this one is an 800mhz. Can I reprogram the control board to operate in the 450mhz band.
My intent is to make the radio work with a DGT9000 control that I have, which is also new. At one time I heard that the DGT could be programmed to work with the Spectra series of radio, is this true and do you need an interface board or will it tie directly into the radio some how.
Any help would be appreciated

Okay, you are treading on some unproven ground here. So far as I know, the DGT is not intended for the X9000.

I don't know what daughter board you are describing, but I assume it's the trunking control board snapped on the HLN5322(X) personality board. Since you want a UHF radio, I assume you are converting a UHF X to an X9000, you can use the personality board from the 800 radio and you can convert the common circuits board to make it work as a full X9000. Not pretty but okay. The personality board is not band specific expect for setting the jumpers.

Now, that having been said...this whole arrangement depends upon what kind of DGT you have. If it's the 15 pin type, you may, might, possibly, remotely have a chance of making this work by directly interconnecting the busses, the reset line and the busy line. Some commands may work, others may not. This is the difference between the X9000 and the X9000E protocols. If you have the four wire version, you need the interface box to connect to the radio.

You will likely be happiest with a Spectra base. The Spectra will give you all the functionality you need/want and you won't be taking chances with unknown protocol issues.

I was at the Paul Green's School of Rock show featuring Jon Anderson of Yes at the Troc in Philadelphia last night. I am at my desk now and I am sound asleep. Someone, please, anyone, change my Mt Dew IV....zzzzzzzzzzzz

Georgezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wake me when I need to drvie home. zzzzzzzzzzzzz

To ensure your success, I would not do this with an X9000, but instead, get a Spectra base.

The DGT is availible for multiple versions of control satations, apparently the one I have is specific to a Desktrac, and not programmable, so it's not going to work with my X9000-E control station. I still would like to know what the major differences are bewtween an X9000 and X9000E other than more modes and trunking. Can I band change the logic board to say UHF,can I just move the daughter board over and change the personality board firmware and take it from there. I do have a few X9000 already. Just wondering if anybody has tried this.
