HLN5471A - what is it?

I have recently come across an HLN5471A. This widget is described as a "DUAL CONTROL POD" by Motorola, with a list cost of nearly $350.

It's nothing more than a cable... a 15-pin VIP connector for a Spectra or X9000, two sets of two wires a piece leading out to pin relays (each is a VIP Output and a Switched B+), and, on the other side of the pin relay, speaker connectors. One side has a radio-side and a speaker-side connector... the other side has a speaker-side and two radio-side connectors.

Any ideas?

Got a pic you can post? Is it the dual control head speaker pod for the x9000/spectra for ambulance like setups?

Close. But it has a second pair of wires, second relay, and three audio connectors, in addition to the one pictured...
