Hi All, I looked on Mike B's page and could not find any info, if I read one X9K can I dump the info in another X9K? like you can read an Ht-600 and dump that in another Ht-600.

yes as long as the numbers match and the internal and external options are the same

After you read a Syntor X 9000, you can copy that code plug into any other Syntor X 9000.

This old RSS is oblivious to just about everything. If you read an 8k EEPROM code plug and write it into a 2k EEPROM radio, the write will proceed without any errors, but the verify cycle will fail. You can write a low band code plug into a UHF radio. This totally incorrect code plug will never work, but the RSS doesn't care. I think you will run into trouble if you try and program MDC in a radio that doesn't have the option board in it. Most of the other options will program and only report errors for missing options when the radio is powered up.

However, there is no CLONE function for any direct radio to radio connection and there is no CLONE setting in the RSS.

you will get a fail 01/82 if there is an mdc issue but the radio will still program and power up and work even with the error.

I am not getting that code as I don't have MDC. for some reason I can't read or write the radio. when I try to program it I get the serial bus fail/ bus time out error. it is something I am probably doing wrong. Is there any body close to me that I can srnd it to?

is it the head or drawer or both that won't read?

You might want to check Mike's site again under control heads. I believe the fail 01/82 is the control head, which was made specifically for a trunked 800 mhz X9000 ONLY.

Remember, the MIC HI lead must be grounded to write to the EEPROM.
