VISAR programming - is early Pentium laptop OK?

I normally use a 486 DOS only laptop to program my Motorola radios and it works great.
However, at the moment , I only have access to a Pentium 233MHz Windows 98 laptop (dated Dec 1998). I have previously used this laptop (Thinkpad 380XD) to program Windows based CPS stuff.
I have searched the archives and seem mention that "Visar Privacy Plus" is Pentium compatible although I've seen no mention of just a plain vanilla Visar.
Given the Batlabs warnings re. only using a 286/386/486 DOS machine , I just wanted to check whether an early Pentium 233MHz laptop should be OK?
I plan on using a DOS bootdisk but I'd also be interested in whether I could program a Visar using a DOS windows?
Thanks
