xtl5000 internal jumpers

Post by tec10 »

Does J23 on the DSP-2 have to be set to utilize the rear 26 pin connector Mic and PTT? And how much does it cost to have done?

I need the pinout for the front db25 connector of xtl5000 vhf

You should not have to change any physical jumpers inside the radio to use the rear 26 pin accessory connector for
mic and PTT. However I will say that it would be wise to look at the mic your using and what the level output it has
to ensure you get correct deviation on transmit.

There is an adjustment you can make with the RSS to increase the mic gain from the rear connector. Normally it
is defaulted to about 0 db. I have raised this up to as high as 6 or so depending on the audio source. Take a
look at the TX AUDIO CONTROL PER MODE and the ANALOG FIXED gain is where this change is made. Careful
with the DIGITAL FIXED GAIN as you can mess up the digital operation if you get things too hot.

You will also want to check the setting in the RSS in the radio wide tab, select the "ADVANCED" tab and look
at the "AUX PTT audio source. It may have to be changed to "AUX MIC". You also have a setting in the
"AUX TRANSMIT SENSITIVITY" that can be set to 80 mv. This selection is dependent on the previous selection.
