I have read in many posts on this site about the complicated installs they have experienced on the Durangos. I was wondering if anyone, who has had experience with installs on the newer model Durangos, could provide tips or suggestions on doing an install on a Durango, specifically the 06 Durango? I am looking to install a Motorola CDM1550 Remote head VHF radio, Federal Signal Smart Siren (older model SS2000), Whelen 6 head hide-away strobe system and several LEDs. It's a pretty straight forward install and I am just working through some ideas to minimize the number of wires I will have to run/holes I will have to drill. Any tips, suggestions or ideas are welcome and will be greatly appreciated.

What ever you do dont loosen the seat bolts. The airbag sensors are tied to the seat and if you change the torque on the bolts the airbag computer takes that as a error and it thows a code and the airbags are deactivated.
You can do a headlight flasher. Use a Whelen UHF-2150a its a isolated ground side flasher. There is a nice storage area in the back hatch that you can mount a smart siren and power supply in there.

i hope it's not for a k9 unit? that vehicle uses multiple computers and they don't play nice with aftermarket gear and wouldn't let the door servo open the door for the dog to get out, the computer won't unlock the doors fast enuf to get out if the vehicle is not in park. the plastic trim around the seats will break off within a week. there was another problem with the trans not going into gear fast enuf and i forget what was causing that? there was a few other complaints i'll post when i remember them. oh one other thing was the climate control sensor for the dog, the computer wouldn't let the window roll down if the aftermarket sensor sensed that it was getting too warm in the vehicle for the dog. i guess if you are just using it for a basic unit the the door locks would be the only gripe i'd have, you can't open the door until the vehicle is completely stopped and in park and the computer decides to unlock the door and let you out.

dodge trannys suck balls
the problem you refer to is the heavy springs, takes entirely too much hydrostatic pressure to engage that sob
