XTS5000 Programming Issue

Hello all. I reciently got my hands on a new XTS5000 II through my work, model # H18SDF9PW6AN. I also have a personal MT2000 with an aftermarket RIB and cable. I currently have the following versions of RSS:
Ver 6.07 MTSX
Ver 2 MTSX lab
Ver 3 MTSX lab
Ver 3.04 Astro Portable lab
Ver SP.01.01.01 Astro Portable
Ver 5 Astro Portable
Ver SP.6.5 Astro Portable
Ver 7.5 Astro Portable

I reciently bought this after-market programming cable on ebay supposedly for the XTS5000 radios (auction # 380006323318).

So, here's the issue... When I try reading the XTS5000 with any of this software, I get nothing but error codes, usually "BUS DATA COLLISION ON TX ERROR" or "CANNOT AQUIRE BUSY LINE ERROR", depending on which RSS im attempting to use. I don't know if it makes any difference but the error codes don't come up right away...when I hit F2 to read the radio, it takes a good 15 to 20 seconds before the error code pops up. Its seems like its trying to read it but somethings not right.

Does this mean its probably the programming cable? Im not using the rib, I know its a ribless cable. Nothing flashes on the radio and it is turned on. Would any of the software I'm trying to use actually read the radio? I'm assuming the radio was previously programmed with a much newer CPS. Is Astro25 the ONLY software which will read/write XTS5000s?

Thank you very much for your help.

First, it's not generally a great idea to list for everyone all the various versions of software, especially LAB tools, that you own.

Second, yes, Astro25 Portable is the only software that will read the XTS5000. Would it make much sense for Motorola to create a whole new software package, then say "oh, but you can use dirt-old Astro or MTSX RSS too"? Most, if not all, of the software you "own" was created long before the XTS5000 was even built. Also, I suspect that your work is likely using the latest CPS, so you'll need the latest version to even attempt a read. I could be wrong on that point, however.

I personally wouldn't use that knockoff programming cable, either, but some have reported that they do work.
