PLEASE HELP! MTVA audio question

Hello,

Hopefully someone can help me out. With an MTVA for MTS2000, do you NEED the amplified external speaker?
Also, I have looked at the pinouts on the MTSX info page and at the moment it is making little sense.
Do any of the pins need to be connected together in order to make the external speaker work etc etc??? Could someone PLEASE explain the details of the audio pinout for me????
Also, When i put my radio into the MTVA, the audio comes through the portables speaker for a few seconds, and then it goes silent, (as if it has been diverted to an external speaker.)
Is there anyway to make it only come out of the radio itself?
HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I don't see why you would NEED the external speaker at all if you didn't want to use it. There is a pin on the radio that you can either cover or remove from the MTVA that will cause the external speaker to not be seen. I will look that up for you but before doing anything to the radios or MTVA make sure you don't get a better answer from one of the many MTVA experts here.

Bump,

Just wondering whether someone could PLEASE define the pinout for me and what to connect to a pin i am making:
1 Audio+
2/3 Ground
4 I/P Stage Ground
5 A+
6 Audio Shield

I would imagine that:
1 Audio+ = positive in aftermarket speaker cable
2/3 Ground = negative ''
4 I/P Stage Ground = ??
5 A+ = ???
6 Audio Shield = audio shield on the after market speaker cable

Is it normal for the mtva to have a very low audio output on a standard non amplified speaker when using pin 1 and 2?? or is it why it has a low output??????
