I have one of these (UHF version) and it will not power up.
There is 14.2 vdc on the output of the power supply.
Does anyone have any schematics/documentation on these?
I suspect something us connected wrong but without any "recipe" to follow, reverse-engineering is taking quite some time.
Anything out there on that "backplane" wiring???
Any help appreciated.

Re: P1821AX portable repeater questions
Do you get anything when you turn it on ? Does the power leds go on? Now there is no speaker, unless you hook up the speaker/ mic. You can also try installing a battery. The power supply may be bad, or you can also try using the 12volt plug from the rear. That will at least tell you if its the PS or not. Another thing I just thought of which is not pretty, I had the backup battery on one go leaky and it took out the entire control board.
Re: P1821AX portable repeater questions
You might want to examine the flex/s that connect/s the display to the chassis/backplane card rack. (It has been a while since I had one apart.) There can be issues in the interconnect fraying that supplies the +B to the control head (It seems to power on like any other spectra...no power for the Green and Orange wires no power up/TX). If the unit has been assembled carelessly there may have been a pinched/sheared wire in the ribbon.
I am also looking for a manual.
Just a Thought.

You might want to try unplugging and re-seating the cards, otherwise, it may be a trip to someone whos is "in the know" with these.

Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...
